To obtain a room or a studio in university residence halls

If you are :
  • A French student (or citizen from a member country of the European Union with a parent who worked or is working in France and living there)
  • A foreign student living in France for at least 2 years with one of your parents
  • An OFPRA refugee

Only one file, the Dossier Social Etudiant allows you to do simultaneously your grant and housing application. It is not necessary to benefit from a grant to get housing.

The Dossier Social Etudiant allows you to apply for housing inside and outside the local education authority of Strasbourg.

Applicants to these aids use the telematics to fill in their DSE.
After your keyboarding, a fill will be sent. Bring it back to your current institution completed with all the documentary evidence. Housing is allocated on social basis (applicant’s family’s income).

Do not wait until you’re a-level or for exams’ results ! It will be too late !

Life in a university residence hall

The traditional residences are actually being renovated in order to provide the students with the best comfort. The rooms are furnished and are about 10m2. The student has access to collective kitchens (to cook if necessary), prep, assembly, recreation and sports room. He also benefit from some specific services: upkeep of the common rooms, the housekeeping of the room, sheets renting, permanent guarding, etc…
Please note: most of the residence are linked to the Osiris Internet network.

The student has to pay a rent to include a part of the running costs (heating, electricity, water, upkeep, and wages). The charge not borne by the student is compensated by grants-in-aid.

The rooms in university residence hall are rented for a 9 month-period minimum (October-June).

The respect of the residence rules, handed over at your arrival, is required. In case of disrespect, you will be expelled.

Housing in residences can benefit from housing assistance called ALS (Allocation Logement Social).

Life in a studio-residence

Studios are 18-24m2 big, include a kitchen, a bathroom and a comfortable living area. Collective services are also available for students according to the residences (prep rooms, Laundromat, sports rooms…)

Please note: most of the residence are linked to the Osiris Internet network .

Attention: studios are rented for a compulsory period of 12 months. They can benefit from housing assistance called APL (Aide Personnalisé au Logement.)
